242A (2004) - Cracroft Point

A total of 74 calls were identified for tape number 242A recorded by Orcalab on August 5, 2004 (19:30 - 20:17) . Calls start at 19:58 with N1 calls at Cracroft Point. The A12s were recognized by Orcalab logs (Helena) at 20:02. Lots of boat noise at the end of recording. The N4 discrete calls type was the most abundant at 45% (n = 33), N16 at 16% (n = 12), N1 at 15% (n = 11), N7 at 12% (n = 9), N5 at 4% (n = 3), N2 at 3% (n = 2), N10 at 3% (n = 2), N9 at 1% (n = 1), and N13 at 1% (n = 1).

242B (2004) - Rubbing Beach

There were 82 discrete northern resident calls identified for recording 242B (August 5, 2004, 20:18 - 21:05), whales were rubbing on pebbles at 20:29. The majority of calls were N4 (40%), N1 (31%), and N5 (14%). Other calls identifed were N2 (5%), N3 (2%), N7 (1%), N9 (6%), and N16 (1%).
